Though, VPN's will not encrypt your emails, just your web browsers. So you can leave it on, and use it when you are not at home, at hotel's, coffee shops, and other places people may try to spy on your activities, it is good to have, and if you have to use your computer in those places, a hit in speed, may be a pain, but you are keeping your information safe, if you are doing any kind of financial, personal, or other things, that should be kept confidential like your social security number. Anyways, I use one, and after trying several this is the one I like, and I only use the US site, as it is fast, any others will make my computer run like a snail. The thing other than speed is can you trust the company, to keep your information confidential, and not sell it, do they really not keep logs, do they say what they say they do, there is really no way to know, that I know of. The problem with the VPN's is that they can be very slow, I found one that has good speed, but the server that I use is in the USA, so it may or may not be protected, but they claim to keep no logs. So if you were in a coffee shop, people wouldn't be able to see what you were doing online.
VPN's well they are a strange thing, they make a secure turn and encrypt your data so your ISP and others can't see it. I have tried several out, and found one I liked. VPN's are used to secure your information, but they come with the price of slowing down your connection speed a lot. It is fine to use with Norton, if you are not going to use it, then uninstall as advised.
